Supplied Uniform to New Students joining the Academy

New students in Year 7 will receive a free uniform consisting of: blazer, tie, trousers or skirt, two white shirts, PE kit: polo shirt, rugby shirt, shorts, socks. Where parents purchase ‘spares’ or additional items in the future these must be the official branded versions available online from Trutex. Last year we also established Bambini of Guisborough as a stockist of replacement/spare items.

Local Uniform Supply – Bambini

In addition to being able to order all of our uniform online, via Trutex (see bottom of page) we are pleased to announce that from August 2015, spares of our official uniform are also available for trying on and purchase from Bambini of Guisborough. Their contact details are: Bambini, 19 Chaloner St, Guisborough, TS14 6QD Phone: 01287 639421 Please note the cost of purchasing from Bambini, rather than directly from Trutex, is slightly more. Please remember that all replacement shirts, trousers and skirts must be official branded items.

Required Academy Uniform

  • Academy clip-on tie
  • Academy jacket – black
  • Plain black socks
  • Plain black shoes – no trainers, boots, pumps or canvas shoes will be allowed

Shirts, Jumpers and Jackets

  • Jackets must be worn with the sleeves down.
  • Sleeves on shirts, jumper or jackets must not be rolled up at any time.
  • Shirts must be tucked in.
  • Only badges issued by the academy may be worn on jackets. Other badges, eg, charity badges, must only be on outdoor coats or bags.

  • Only plain black shoes, designed to be polished, are allowed to be worn with the uniform. No trainers, boots, pumps or canvas shoes will be allowed, including rubberised trainers designed to look like shoes. Heels should be no higher that 2.5 cm/1inch. Patent leather shoes are acceptable.

NB – If students are not wearing the correct footwear they will be expected to borrow a pair of shoes from their Learning Manager on arrival – the shoes will be treated with a hygienic spray after each use. Failure to wear the shoes provided will result in an exclusion (refusing a reasonable request).

Outdoor Coats

  • Outdoor coats should be dark in colour, e.g. black, navy or khaki and should have no large logos.
Please note, hoodies, fur coats, denim and studded leather jackets are not allowed.
Fur trim on the hoods of outdoor coats is acceptable. Coats must be large enough to be work over blazers, not under.
  • The school is in an exposed position, and when we have wet weather we encourage students to wear coats to protect their uniform.

  • Students require a school bag which can fit in an Academy planner and A4 workbooks.

Required PE kit

  • Purple polo top
  • Black shorts
  • Rugby top
  • Black (long, plain/unbranded) football socks
  • Black tracksuit bottoms for winter
  • Trainers (not canvas fashion pumps as these to do not give enough support or protection)
  • Football boots for football and rugby

We strongly recommend;

  • Gum shield – for rugby
  • Shin pads – for football

Optional PE Uniform

  • Academy tracksuit top
  • Academy tracksuit bottoms or plain black tracksuit bottoms
  • 3/4 zip fleece

We strongly advise that students use a hard case to transport their instrument to and from the academy to offer the best possible protection for the instrument. The case must be clearly labelled with the student’s name. Students are responsible for ensuring their instrument is stored safely on the shelves provided in the instrument stores in A block. The Academy will not be responsible for damage caused due to improper storage or unsuitable protection.
