Associate Assistant Principal.
I began my teaching career in 2010 after completing my Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) at Durham University. In 2012, I joined Richmond School and Sixth Form College in North Yorkshire where I taught History to students across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5. In 2017, I became a member of the Humanities Department at Outwood Academy Bydales, specialising in History. I joined the Senior Leadership Team in September 2018 and this has provided me with the opportunity to play a wider role across the whole school, with responsibility for enrichment activities, assemblies and VMG sessions.
My philosophy is to be a supportive, collaborative colleague and teacher. I believe school should be a place where the well-being and progress of students is at the forefront of everything we do so that they are able to gain the best possible education. Having studied at Rye Hills School, I am passionate about supporting students from the area in which I grew up. I want students to come to school in a safe environment which allows them to flourish and develop into happy, healthy, well balanced individuals who can make significant positive contributions to the wider world.
