The Library currently holds over 6000 items in stock for students to access for homework or their own reading pleasure. Our stock consists of both fiction and non-fiction books.
Computer access is also available daily before school, and after school on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, as well as at break for students to do research or complete their homework.
Mrs Wing actively promotes a lifelong love of reading with the students through various promotions held within the academy.
The Library is open from 8.00am until 2.30pm daily and until 3.30pm on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday for Homework Club Enrichment and Tuesday for Careers Drop-in. Students can access the Library as and when they need to on all of these days.

The Library runs and promotes various reading schemes within school including Reciprocal Reading, Reading Buddies, Lexia, Spellzone and Friday Night Book Club and provides support where needed to students and their parents or carers.
The Accelerated Reader (AR) scheme encourages Year 7, 8, 9 students to enjoy reading a wide range of fiction and non-fiction books that are available in the academy library, thereby supporting literacy in all areas of the curriculum.
Library staff and teachers have worked hard in promoting reading and understanding using books and online quizzes to ensure progression in the AR programme.
Students can take quizzes from home once they have finished reading a book by accessing the following website: Accelerated Reader
If you would like any more information regarding this please ring the Academy and ask for either Mrs Wing or Miss Glover who will be pleased to answer any queries you may have.
