Outwood Arts Event at York Barbican - Wednesday 4 July

It was fantastic to see the excitement of our student cast members heading off to the Outwood Grange Academies Trust Performing Arts Festival at the York Barbican yesterday, Students have been rehearsing hard in the academy, with other local Teesside Outwood students at Outwood Acklam, and also at times at Outwood Grange Academy in Wakefield. On Wednesday students from across our 21 secondaries all came together for a day of rehearsals ahead of the evening performance at 7pm. It was a superb evening, with eveyone enjoying the opportunity to collaborate on such a large scale, and dance, sing, act and perform on the big stage, with over 500 students. Wow!

A brilliant opportunity to collaborate and perform in a fantastic venue, to a huge audience!

Human Stories.
What shapes us?
Stories of our past, our future and our imagination

Many thanks to Mrs Trenholm, Mrs Thompson and all our colleagues who have been supporting with the preparations, and above all to our Directors of Performing Arts across the Trust, Mr Morgan and Mrs Braithwaite! Thank you too to colleagues Mrs Smith, Mrs Hansford and Miss Horsefield who accompanied students for the day, evening and very late coach journey home back to Marske.

More photos to appear here over the coming weeks, but these initial ones from back-stage afterwards.
