Governors’ ‘Parent Voice’ Forum – Wednesday 14 March 5.00-6.00pm

The purpose of these informal meetings is to give you, as parents/carers of the students at Outwood Bydales, an opportunity to ask questions and make suggestions which will help us continue to improve the educational experience we provide.

After two unsuccessful attempts to hold the ‘Parent Voice’ meeting for the Spring Term, due to a clash with the ‘Wizard of Oz’ production and inclement weather, resulting in our first school closure in over 10 years; we have decided to hold the meeting on Wednesday 14 March from 5pm to 6pm. I apologise for any inconvenience caused by the two previous cancellations.

At this meeting Ms Rice, our Vice Principal, will provide a presentation on the Academy’s Anti Bullying Policy. We are keen to gain the views of parents/carers on this subject so questions and comments will be welcome.

Mr Wappat will be present and more than happy to respond to your questions and comments on any general subjects pertaining to the Academy. Queries concerning the academic or social needs of individual students are welcomed by direct contact with appropriate members of staff.

Outwood Academy Bydales provides an outstanding education for students, as confirmed by the recent Ofsted inspection and subsequent report. This meeting is also an opportunity to celebrate this well-deserved accolade for students and staff.

The minutes of all previous ‘Parent Voice’ meetings are available on the Academy’s website home page,, and they make it clear how much the staff and governors value the perspective offered by parents/carers at these termly meetings.

As ever we value your input, as we are always seeking to enhance the educational experience we provide for our students.

I appreciate that you may have planned to attend the event as previously scheduled, therefore if you are unable to attend this meeting or would prefer to send a written query or comment, my email address is:

We do hope you will be able to join us.

Yours faithfully

Tricia Taylor
Chair of Academy Council
