Students interested in a career in Engineering have been working hard over the last few weeks, each Tuesday, at Industrial Cadets sessions courtesy of British Steel in Redcar. Recently through a project they have been studying designing industrial structures including bridges spanning busy port rivers. On Tuesday 7 November they spent time visiting the Tees Transporter Bridge in Middlesbrough. Miss Heason-Phillips was in support, and had to dig deep to overcome her fear of heights to take these photographs.
The final session will take place on Tuesday 14 November, with project presentations to parents and school staff, at the British Steel Teesside Beam Mill in Redcar. More photos will appear here after that event.
Well done to all the students involved for their committment and enthusiasm. We look forward to hearing about future engineering projects you become involved in through your eventual careers!
