In the most recently published Performance Tables, Outwood Academy Bydales was placed 3rd out of 55 similar schools nationally, thus placing the school in the top 5%. This ranking is top out of the five local authorities in Teesside, and places the school third in the whole of the North East, ie from Yorkshire to Scotland. The school was also highest in the five Teesside authorities for the Best 8 GCSE grades achieved by students, in terms of ‘value-added’ since KS2, with a figure of 1026.5

Outwood Academy Bydales has yet to be inspected by Ofsted. As a relatively new academy, it has no official judgement. We expect an Ofsted visit in the academic year 2016-2017.
However, our sister academy Outwood Academy Ripon has just been judged Outstanding by Ofsted (January 2016) under the new, tougher framework.
